I'm still wondering as well why Above & Beyond, Menno de Jong, Tiesto, Gareth Emery and more artists can have full podcasts/shows on iTunes and Armin can't. Also more has been stated in this topic: http://forum.arminvanbuuren.com/index.php?showtopic=7329

Podcasts don't run on iTunes, iTunes is just one of the many media to distribute them.

The answer to your question is in the old thread: money. It's not a question of connections or technology, Armin simply doesn't want to spend the money on licencing fees it takes to do a full 2 hour podcast. He stated so himself here on the forum last year, I think his exact words were "it would cost too much money". Other parties obviously do not see this as a problem but he does. We can argue about it all we want but I don't think it will change anything.

Btw there are many factors that influence the licencing costs of a podcast. Obviously length and frequency but also if you chapter it with artist names and songtitles or not. A&B for example choose to not include these to keep costs in hand and be able to do the weekly full 2 hours. Licencing is probably also different per country of origin. What Armin did was cut the costs to the maximum by keeping it short and only using tracks that Armada holds the rights to. In the end of the day it's all his decision and if he chooses to do it like this then I respect that. I do however think that it's both confusing and misleading to call it Asot podcast, while in reality it is the Armada promo podcast. Why not just call it what it is.
