Well tbh no one really knows. I think the whole Radio 538 issue was possibly a demonstration of Tiesto's arrogant attitude, or a demonstration of label politics. I think the only way you'll ever find out is if Armin and Tiesto play a gig again ever again, because Ferry and Armin did it quite recently so obviously no problems there.

i think everyone is reading too much into this issue, if they are friends or not it shouldnt matter. Obviously there is something going on, but its non of our business obviously because we dont know what happened. It can't be some sort of fued between them because we would have probably heard it from armin himself, like the way he talked about dj sammy Anyways either way it would be interesting to hear both of them play together some time. If not, oh well....its a thing of the past i guess

Basically my understanding is that Armin and Tiesto both get along with Ferry, however, as of right now it appears Armin and Tiesto aren't on the best of terms, I personally think its a temporary feud, not a hatred. It also appears for some reason Above & Beyond was unable to make time for Armin, and Armin was quite disapointed. Armin & A&B played together last year, so no problem there until recently, and Armin and Tiesto actually played at the same events forceably, because you just can't turn down some big time festivals

He is not chosen enough times, so Armin didn't ask him I think. And the line up is (imo) very great on the moment!

Why is tiesto history? He plays great music, and I think dj's never will be history. Only when they stop, and tiesto hasn't stopped yet, so I think he is future too, just like armin!

In my view our "relationship" is very complicated
to be honest I like some of his sets which I passed or just njoyed on pc.. they were full of energy and uplifting power
but on the other hand I totally hated some of his performances.. like on Trance energy last year

Tiesto and Armin a BOTH great DJ's ! Armin's radioshow is better, but if u listen the In Search of Sunrise CDs of Tiesto, OMG simply amazing ! Tiesto's concerts were good till 2004 or some, after that, they became crap. And yes i've been on his concerts about 3 times. He tends to play crappy trance lately, ruining the whole thing. I dunno why, but his style just isnt good for me.

They are indeed both good Djs, however I agree that Tiesto has been changing his play style a bit, some of us 90s fans blame his attempt to suck in the mainstream crowd. Which Armin is guilty of as well even though it is working magnificently for them and their pockets, its not what us old school long time trance lovers long for. Tiesto in Concert 2006, boring, Tiesto New Year's Eve in LA, boring, his club sets in between have been about the same, some decent Tiesto songs, a few gems and the rest is snooze worthy. There are however, exceptions, Elements of Life was definitely a great concert.

I would say Tiesto's in Concert 2 was great and better than Armin's shows from then and prior, however, Armin Only has surpassed Tiesto, with the exception of EoL Tour matching the energy of AO. On that note, it does happen when Armin wants to please a crowd that goes bonkers over vocals, his sets can become dull, especially in clubs, but he pulls out all the stops for AO and plays a perfect mix consistently.

I'm no fanboy and am extremely disappointed with both of their albums, I hope they make more tracks like Elements of Life [the track] and Rush Hour rather than the rest that appears on their latest albums

When you get popular, sometimes things change. That includes relationships with people. Everything is changing. I wonder why Armin and Tiesto don't mention each other or work b2b...but whatever the case, I'm sure there are good reasons for it.

I'm a fan of Tiesto's work moreso than Armin's...because of the Magik/ISOS series. But AO @ TAO outdoes any Tiesto show I've been to. It's a toss up between EoL and Imagine....however, Armin is a bit heavy with vocals.

Not that I dislike vocals. Guess I like older sounding trance.

Not sure about the A&B thing. May be they're operating on their own terms, and not submitting to Armin's dominating influence on the trance dj community. They must be too cool for Armin. hah. Just playin'. I'm seeing A&B in April in SLC so hopefully they're alright!

Anyway, in terms of Tiesto versus Armin...here is my 2 cents.

well both have produced couple of nice tracks. so i like them both.
i personaly prefer more Tiesto, Ferry Corsten style than AvB one.
A&B are also good (i will never forget World on fire...) and i really can understant them. cause some things are just get overhyped by the stupid crowds...

btw and i think... they just don't want to mix personal with professional... (and it's a good solution)

and to mention Major League - Wonder? (Original Mix) <- is really awesome. i would be glad to hear some production like this one in the future than both are on pension xD
