Hey guys,

I'm probably not known for being a fan of opening many topics about the same subject, but in this case I think it's time for an exception. With ASOT 400 running into it's final 2 hours and looking back to what has happened in the last 70 hours it's safe to conclude that we have witnessed something quite spectacular.

Come a milestone episode Above & Beyond make a mix of all their own tunes, Tiesto calls upon his listeners to email him their requests and what does Armin do? He throws a 3 day long online multimedia spectacle interlaced with 3 massive shows in 3 different countries. Talk about a slight difference in approach smile.gif

So I think a massive thank you to Armin and his entire crew are in place here:

THANK YOU!

I'm sure I speak for all of us here when I say this has been pretty damn cool

Absolutely a fantastic job! Big thanks to all artists involved for the great music the past 72 hours, technical people who made the video and broadcast possible and above all ... Armin himself! Doing this show for free for almost 8 years now, putting a lot of time and effort to deliver a fresh new show to us every week.

Bring on ASOT 500 I'd say smile.gif

This has been (an still is for one more hour) an amazing experience. As well for us, listeners, as for Armin himself.
Can't describe how much I appreciate it tongue.gif

And the best thing was that those liveshows were in small venues, so it was an intimate setting smile.gif

Thanks Armin!

This has been indeed a celebration I'd say . So many people gathered here for 3 days chatting and enjoying music , and ofcourse so many clubbers out there enjoying 3 massive shows . Those 3 days have been very memorable , it's really so much greater than I expected , all I can say is

Thank you Armin . Keep up the great job you have been doing for the past 8 years with 8 more to come . Congratulations !

The last 72hrs have been absolutely amazing! And it was soo great that we had a live stream available to us. It almost felt like i was there at the club partying and celebrating asot 400. Thank You to everyone who made this broadcast possible and a very BIG thank you to ARMIN! thank you soo much for an amazing time. Can't believe i got almost little or no sleep the last few days but it was all worth it. These last few day i will remember forever. Good Luck in the future and take care!

Me and my friends renamed Rotterdam to RotterBAM because it was so awesome biggrin.gif
Quite an unique experience. First time seeing Armin for me and I still can't get over him playing my classic request, in the 400th episode. Think it was the best feeling i've ever felt when it started biggrin.gif

I have a feeling Armins shows will be guested by me more times in the future!
Thanks to everyone who participated in Rotterdam and specially thanks to Armin for giving me the longest shivers ever biggrin.gif

Big thank you to everyone involved with the whole A State of Trance 400 celebration, but most importantly to Armin who made my night on Friday and delivered an incredible experience. On top of that the 72 hours was huge with some amazing mixes and sets, just a shame I didn't get to listen/watch more of what was played. Ah well, I still can't believe how good Armin was live, and I feel very privileged to have witnessed 400 episodes of this great show and to time it with my first live Trance experience. biggrin.gif Bring on 500 I say! biggrin.gif

What can you say but simply incredible. An unbelievable achievement on so many radio shows and this spectacular event of asot 400. The last 72 hours have been amazing, as already said big thanks to everybody involved. I managed to make one of the live shows @ Gods and it’s up there with the best nights of my life, if not top of the pile. Watched most of the Germany one on the live stream and you actually got the feeling you were there. Brilliantly set up and a genius idea. Definitely roll on asot 500, 100 weeks will fly by...especially with asot to look forward to every week.

Bring on ASOT 500 I'd say smile.gif

and what about 450 tongue.gif
already looking forward to it biggrin.gif

anyway: Thank you Armin, Armada and all the other crew involved in setting up this massive celebration of the 400th episode of ASOT!!
edit: and I almost forgot the most important part: Also thanks to all the people who are supporting ASOT and ofcoure the DJs who helped with their guestmixes en livesets!
Pajo1
loved the whole asot 400 experience & never saw the internet come alive like that before that alone was crazy... so ASOT 500 whats the plan???lol wub.gif
girish
I haven't slept well in 3 days, or studied anything for the exams tomorrow. mad.gif
Rob
I will start different - if we had so many DJs, many places, many episodes in these days - what we can expect on ASOT 500??? 5 different countries? 55 different DJs ? 555 hours of ASOTs in 5 days in a row?

maybe it sounds strange but i wish you this from all my heart and when we will celebrate 10 years of ASOT all the people in the world should know who is Armin van Buuren and what he has done for people with his positive neverending music energy!

BRAVO!!!

Well, I can't really say much about the streaming having experienced none of it but it was pretty obvious that there was a hell of a lot of effort put into making this much more than a simple audio stream from a club. I'd have to echo the thanks that everyone else has expressed to the whole team that put the events together, and I think all credit to Armin for playing as part of that.

It was really interesting to see in Butan; Armin was there until the end of Sied's set, doing links and generally keeping involved and appreciating what the other DJs were playing. I'm sure given his status it would have been easy for him to clear off back to the hotel for some sleep after his own set and leave the others to wrap the night up but you got the impression that this was definitely a labour of love, being his radioshow after all.

I'm not really interested in glib soundbyte expressions of thanks (Wooo!!!! Yeah!!!!! ASOT rocks!!!!!) so maybe if you put me on the spot by shoving a camera in front of my face outside Butan I wouldn't necessarily come up with much to say... But, now having time to look back on the past few days, I have to say that it was a great weekend which I've thoroughly enjoyed. The potential was there for it to end up being nothing more than sadistic but, thanks to the DJs involved really putting effort in to bring new tunes and make each night different, it was actually very special indeed.
jennerz
I have to agree with what everyone has said. Truly this weekend was totally unforgettable-even for those that couldnt make it to any of the events. Even though I definately could'nt be there, I really appreciate the thought and effort that was put into making the live video and audio stream a true success!!! biggrin.gif
vivaldi290
All the DJs were awesome this year! I hate to say it but ASOT 400 was about 10 times better than 350.
Mami
Thanks everyone!

Thank you Armin!! You´re the best!!!!

If you didnt love the music or the people as much as Armin so obviously does, you'd never be able to pull this off..let alone want to do it.
As i mentioned, this is another in a looooooooong line of examples of how Armin is all class cool.gif

It does make you wonder how off-the-charts-bonkers 500 might be in a few yrs ohmy.gif

I'm just gonna let Armin speak on my behalf cause it's exactly what I wanted to say.
This is a transcript from what Armin says at 16'43" into Aly & Fila's set (stream was ripped from SLAM FM I think)...

"you're tuned in to ASOT, episode 400
my name is Armin van Buuren
just came off the main stage of the Maassilo in Rotterdam
you're listening to day 3 of the live events...

the big celebration, I can tell you that room was completely packed
my shirt is soaking wet from sweat...
but it was an amazing experience seeing all those people going absolutely nuts to those classics
I'm on Cloud 9 here ladies en gentleman, I hope you are too...

We LOVE trance and we wanna SCREAM it.
Honestly we are really really delighted that you are tuned in.
we have a massive party here.
I hope you're having a massive party whereever you are.
ASOT will continue for years and years
..."

Encoded the part where he talks about his set. Feels good to hear he had as much fun as we did smile.gif

What Armin said during the live broadcast of Aly & Fila is just what I have to say about the night really ...
A solid celebration of trance as it should be (only next time , bigger venue please , I almost died in that room tongue.gif)

I ripped out the part where Armin talks about his set.
Feels good to hear he had as much fun as we did ...

BIG CONGRATS to Armin for everything he has done so far, ep400 was an amazing experience and the 2 gigs i went to was the most fun i had ever had.
I was soaked in sweat @ Butan and Massilo ( all of my clothes, even the map in my back pocket got destroyed ) and it was all worth it, i'm still in pain my calf's / arms after giving 110% at both of those events.
Been to a couple of gigs with Armin now, and i dont think i have seen him smile so much as he did in Massilo, and i am glad it still seems he has the burning passion for Trance as always and its amazing to see everytime.
Very very very happy for Armin, Congrats again to him and his team for all the hard work they have done for ASOT400!

+ 2000000!!!! This was on of the craziest events that I can officially say that I witnessed. I am still slightly shocked that it happened. I can't wait to see what Armin does on 500 after his 10 year of ASOT. Big thanks to Armin and everyone that made this possible. We for sure enjoyed every minute of the 72 hours.

Hi Armin,

It was really really really amazing, never seen such a party in my life before, just unbelievable. It will be difficult this week to get my feet on the ground, i'm still floating around in clouds of trancemusic.

And don't forget the photo we gave you during your set, maybe it sounds a bit too ambitious now, but we looking out for ASOT 1000!!!!!

Thank you for a very special night.

Bert & Caroline

i got to touch to very tiny pieces of the whole 72h experience... still i felt the energy, the emotion, the music. so i'm also thankful. when i have time i will listen to most of the sets (which i find interesting) and then i will get a clearer picture of it, i'm sure. i'm currently listening to Armin's set from Germany and i'm speechless...
thank you, Armin! and all the best in the coming years, so you can be here with us for a very long time!

Listening to the Rotterdam gig atm, and damn it's as good, or even better than hearing it live! I love to re-listen livesets at home when you can just focus on the music and not being pushed around by the crowd smile.gif --And this is definitely brilliant stuff!

Can't thank & congratulate you enough!
